JAILL
Jaill

Performing
Saturday, June 5

Milwaukee’s own Jaill began recording their 2009 LP There’s No Sky (Oh My My) in the basement of a converted funeral home in April of 2008—the heat was out until March and then the pipes burst, flooded. Overdubs were finished in an attic room at Vinnie’s house. The process was described as very slow and very smooth, ‘We overcame being terribly high to record this album,’ Vinnie remembers. Justin Perkins helped mix and then mastered the album and the final product was the perfect introduction for a local band to meet the national indie scene. There’s No Sky was released in February of 2009 and caught the attention of Sub Pop’s Head of A&R, Tony Kiewel, shortly thereafter. A second national tour in support of the album occured through the month of October, in which Jaill played Seattle’s famed Funhouse. Tony and friends were in attendance, cigarettes were smoked, jokes were mediocre, and friendships were formed. Jaill was signed soon after and will release a full-length album for Sub Pop in 2010.
